DTEK to add 200 MW of energy storage in Ukraine
Sep 12, 2024 16:01 CEST(SeeNews) – Oct 23, 2014 – Ukrainian sugar producer Astarta has put into operation a biogas facility at its sugar factory in the city of Hlobyne in the central Poltava region, the company said today.
The unit will produce biogas during fermentation of sugar beet waste and other agricultural residues. The facility has a project capacity of 150,000 cu m of biogas a day, equalling 75,000 cu m of natural gas.
The project will allow Astarta to cut the plant’s natural gas consumption by 50% during beet processing, the company added.
Going forward, Astarta plans to use the alternative fuel to meet the needs of its soybean processing plant, which is also based in Hlobyne.
