Dec 3, 2012 - Power generation from renewable sources in Ukraine surged by 495.4 million kWh to 529.7 million kWh in January-October 2012 as compared with the same period of the previous year, data by the country's energy ministry showed today.

In October alone, the country's renewable electricity generation surged 4.1 times year-on-year to 61 million kWh.

Despite the staggering growth, the share of renewable power in the country's total energy mix remains extremely low -- 0.33% in January-October 2012 and 0.38% October.
