Nordex to supply 6.8-MW turbines for 68-MW German wind project
Sep 18, 2024 9:08 CESTGerman energy group Uniper SE (ETR:UN0), Norwegian Hydrogen AS and Australia’s Provaris Energy Ltd (ASX:PV1) on Tuesday said they have joined forces in an initiative to supply green hydrogen from production sites in the Nordics to Germany.
The partners have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that calls for them to explore the potential for Uniper to offtake renewable hydrogen and supply it to industrial and other users willing to decarbonise their operations. The RFNBO-labelled hydrogen will be made via electrolysis by Norwegian Hydrogen and transported and stored using Provaris’ H2Neo carriers and H2Leo storage barges.

The green fuel will be delivered in a compressed form to a port defined by Uniper.
While the terms of the MOU are non-exclusive and non-binding, the three companies said they will pursue binding contracts for the supply and offtake of hydrogen.
Norwegian Hydrogen and Provaris have been partnering since 2022 and after the successful pre-development activities for the FjordH2 project expanded their collaboration, aiming to deploy new production and export sites in the Nordics to supply European industrial users.
