Elawan bags Google PPA for 37-MW solar project in Texas
Sep 19, 2024 13:49 CESTUnited Renewable Energy LLC has completed a 3-MW solar installation at a manufacturing plant of personal care corporation Kimberly Clark (NYSE:KMB) in the state of Georgia.
Kimberly Clark announced the completion of the photovoltaic (PV) system at the facility in LaGrange in a statement on Wednesday. NextEra Energy Resources LLC, acting through a subsidiary, owns the solar installation, which consists of more than 8,600 solar panels.
The power generated by the solar system and all the renewable energy credits (REC) will be sold to utility Georgia Power under its renewable energy development initiative.
Kimberly-Clark will also buy RECs from NextEra Energy as part of its efforts to offset 40% of its greenhouse gas emissions by 2022.
