University of Cyprus may become home to 10-MW solar park - report

Jan 27, 2012 - Officials from the University of Cyprus have met with interested parties to discus the development of a 10-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) facility at its campus, the Famagusta Gazette said earlier this week.

According to estimates, the installation will offset 12,700 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year.

A special committee on the project has already been formed. It will rely on the support of the Cyprus Electricity Authority, Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority and other institutions, the report said.
