BLM clears huge transmission link, solar-storage project in Nevada
Sep 16, 2024 10:05 CESTUS engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor Signal Energy LLC said on Tuesday it has completed the construction of the 418-MWp Juno solar project in Texas for customer SB Energy.
The solar power plant, located in Borden County, is now generating enough power to meet the needs of 40,000 homes, the contractor added. The project was delivered on schedule despite challenges such as the pandemic and extreme weather events in Texas, it was noted in the press release.
SB Energy, a renewables platform of Japanese conglomerate SoftBank Group Corp (TYO:9984), last week announced a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with a subsidiary of fellow-Japanese trader Mitsui & Co Ltd (TYO:8031) for a portion of the Juno solar farm.
Juno will provide electricity to Mitsuiās Houston, Texas-based energy marketing and services business Mitsui and Co Energy Marketing and Services USA Inc (MEMS), and also to Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA).
