IEA urges proactive measures to integrate renewables
Sep 18, 2024 11:17 CESTJun 5, 2012 - US advertising agency DeBellis & Ferrara said Monday it had purchased enough renewable energy certificates (RECs) to cover 100% of the annual power demand of its headquarters (HQ) in the state of Virginia.
The move is in line with the company's sustainable practices and efforts to lower its fossil fuel consumption, it said. The RECs that DeBellis bought have been generated by US wind farms.
The purchase of wind RECs has qualified DeBellis for the Green-e Marketplace initiative. This is a US programme that allows companies to display the Green-e logo on their corporate communications, products and company collateral to show their commitment to renewable energy.
