Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTUS company Omni Navitas has floated a proposal for a 150-MW solar power plant in Cambodia, local media reported.
The company's chief executive Jim McAuliffe had a meeting with Cambodia's Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday. According to the reports, Omni Navitas is currently discussing with Electricite Du Cambodge (EDC) the price at which the electricity will be sold to the government.
McAuliffe was cited by Khmer Times as saying that negotiations were now at USD 0.09 (EUR 0.07) per kWh but were continuing. The price would be reasonable and help reduce power prices for local households, he further said. The project would be a joint venture with local company OmniCam.
Khmer Times also cited energy ministry director-general Victor Jona as saying that a 100-MW solar project supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) would be awarded via tender at below USD 0.08 per kWh.
