Power Engineers, a unit of Texas-based Thermal Energy Partners LLC, has been contracted to provide services as part of the construction of a 10-MW geothermal power plant in the island nation of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

NRE International Inc (NREI), which co-develops the particular project with the Nevis Island Administration, announced on Tuesday that Power Engineers will deliver design review, inspection and Owner’s representative services.

The project in question is located on the former Hamilton Estates Property on the Island of Nevis, which is the smaller of the two islands that make up the Caribbean nation. It is in its final design stages before construction start.

Upon completion, the geothermal plant will allow the island to become 100% reliant on zero emission renewable energy power generation, according to the announcement.
