Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTThe US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) on Friday awarded a grant for a feasibility study for a photovoltaic (PV) project of up to 100 MW in Mozambique.
The grant has been awarded to WHN Solar SA, which has picked Nebraska-based consulting firm HDR International Inc to conduct the study.
The solar plant would be built in phases of 20 MW-40 MW and would have an energy storage component, USTDA said in a statement. It would be located on the property of Nacala International Airport in the province of Nampula in the northeastern part of the country.
According to the announcement, the project will contribute to the development of the grid in the Nacala region, which lacks sufficient generation capacity and faces stability issues.
