State hydropower producer and developer JSC Uzbekhydroenergo is looking for developers of five new hydroelectric projects in Uzbekistan with a combined capacity of about 46.6 MW.

The state-run entity recently launched the procurement process, inviting interested parties to submit a Statement of Qualification (SOQ) in accordance with the requirements included in Request for Qualification (RFQ) documents.

The five hydro plants will be developed on a public-private partnership (PPP) basis.

The Uzbek government said that through its recent PPP tenders it seeks to promote the inflow of foreign direct investment for hydro developments and achieve diversity in the country’s generation mix.
