Vattenfall buys Germany's Geosolar

Swedish state-owned utility Vattenfall AB has acquired German heating solutions firm Geosolar as it seeks to expand its energy offerings for single- and two-family homes.

Vattenfall aims to drive the energy transition forward, particularly in single- and two-family homes, with heat pumps, solar systems, wall boxes, and battery storage, the company said.

With about 90 employees, Geosolar Group specialises in heating technology for households, in particular heat pumps. The company, which is active in the greater Berlin area, has installed over 7,500 technical systems in the last 20 years.

Following its acquisition, Geosolar's brand and its regional logo will be maintained. Vattenfall said it plans to support the firm in procurement, sales, digital processes, and training.

The latest acquisition comes after Vattenfall recently purchased two other German firms active in the installation of heating and energy systems, Werner Harm and Frackmann. As a result, a total of about 300 employees work at Vattenfall in the business field aimed at bringing the energy transition to consumers.
