Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has picked up a firm order to supply its turbines for the 795-MW OranjeWind offshore wind project in Dutch waters, a press release said on Monday.

The wind farm, formerly known as Hollandse Kust West VII, will feature 53 units of the V236-15.0 MW turbines, which Vestas will supply, deliver and commission.

The Danish wind turbine manufacturer said that it will also service the machines under a comprehensive five-year service agreement followed by a long-term operational support agreement.

Installation of the OranjeWind turbines at the Dutch North Sea site is expected to begin in 2027.

The turbine order is announced less than a week after French multi-energy major TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTE) said it was joining the OranjeWind project as the co-owner.

TotalEnergies acquired a 50% stake in the development from German energy group RWE AG (ETR:RWE) to use its portion of the wind farm’s output for green hydrogen production.
