Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has won a deal to deliver its hardware for a 84-MW repowering project of BE Energy GmbH in Austria.

The subsidiary of Austrian electric utility Burgenland Energie AG has ordered 14 units of the V150-6.0 MW machines, Vestas said on Tuesday. Its scope of work will cover the supply, delivery and commissioning of the turbines.

The equipment will be used to repower a portion of the Neusiedl-Weiden wind energy park. A total of 44 older machines at the site will be replaced by the new hardware.

The Danish manufacture expects to start delivering the turbines in the second quarter of 2025 and bring them online in the closing trimester of 2025. Once commissioned, it will service them under a 25-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) agreement.

According to the statement, the project will be Austria's largest wind repowering scheme.
