Eurowind, Wind Estate set up EUR-400m wind JV in Denmark
Sep 18, 2024 11:01 CESTDanish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) is consolidating its technology, manufacturing and procurement function to improve technology introductions and manufacturing ramp-up.
The company announced today it will merge its Technology organisation (CTO) and Manufacturing and Global Procurement organisation (COO) into one Technology and Operations organisation (CTOO). The new united organisation will be headed by Vestas’ current chief technology officer, Anders Nielsen, who will become CTOO. It is expected to be fully implemented during the third quarter of 2024.
“Vestas has built a strong backlog across onshore, offshore, and service towards the end of this decade, and we are today announcing the next step in our organisational evolution to deliver on our customer commitments,” said Vestas chief executive Henrik Andersen.
“The united CTOO-organisation will help accelerate ramp-up and industrialisation across Vestas and the industry by simplifying interfaces, collaboration and strengthening our end-to-end approach,” he explained.
The establishment of the CTOO organisation will only impact senior management roles and not lead to any restructuring at an operational level, the turbine manufacturer said.
As a result of the change, the company’s current COO, Tommy Rahbek Nielsen, has decided to pursue opportunities outside the company after a more than 25-year tenure.
