Eurowind, Wind Estate set up EUR-400m wind JV in Denmark
Sep 18, 2024 11:01 CEST(ADPnews) - May 3, 2010 - Danish wind-turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) and Syrian company Marafeq signed yesterday a strategic partnership agreement to develop wind energy projects in Syria, according to a report by the country's news agency SANA.
The partners will apply to Syria's Public Establishment for Electricity Generation and Transmission to jointly develop the first wind energy project in the Middle Eastern country.
The project comprises two wind farms with a capacity of 50-100 MW in Al Sukhna and Al Hijana, south of Damascus.
Marafeq will be the project's developer, Vestas will provide the technology while Kuwait-based Kharafi Group will be responsible for the project engineering, procurement and construction.
Marafeq is a joint venture of Cham Holding in Syria and Kharafi Group, established in 2008 to develop utility projects in Syria.
