Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has been tapped to supply 114 MW of its turbines for a wind farm project in the United States.

The Danish wind turbine maker said on Wednesday that its latest third-quarter order had been placed by US firm Competitive Power Ventures (CPV). It includes the supply of 19 units of the V162-6.0 MW wind turbines and the multi-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.

The turbines will be used to assemble a wind farm called Rogue’s Wind.

Vestas expects to deliver the machines in the first quarter of 2025 and start the commissioning in the third quarter of that year.

CPV has situated the Rogue’s Wind project at a former coal mine in Pennsylvania. The proposed wind farm will stretch across Cambria and Clearfield Counties, repurposing the old mine and bringing more than USD 150,000 annually in new revenues for local municipalities, the power generation company said separately.
