Vestas says cyber security incident left data compromised Author: Rachel Johnson.

Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) said that “data has been compromised” in a cyber security incident it had discovered on Friday.

According to the company’s preliminary findings, the incident impacted parts of Vestas’ internal IT infrastructure, but not third-party operations, including customer and supply chain operations, the manufacturer said in a statement on Monday.

Vestas did not provide details into the nature of the incident.

Vestas’ IT systems were shut down across multiple business units and locations over the weekend. Gradual and controlled reopening of all IT systems has been initiated, while manufacturing, construction and service teams have been able to continue, according to the statement on Monday.

The investigation is still ongoing, Vestas said.
