Vestas says resumes V112 installation after German accident - report

Dec 11, 2012 - Danish Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has resumed work on the installation of its V112-3.0 wind turbines everywhere except in Germany, the company said Monday in an e-mail to Danish newswire Ritzau Finans, thus discarding media reports.

Yesterday, there were reports in Danish media that Vestas had suspended the set-up of V112 turbines until there was clarity about what caused the fatal accident in Germany last week, when a blade dropped onto the crane cabin during installation.

However, Vestas told Ritzau on Monday that the suspension on installations, triggered by the accident, had been lifted on December 6, after the introduction of precaution measures for the crew installing the turbines. Since then, installation work has been resumed everywhere but in Germany, where Vestas is still in talks with the local authorities on the accident, the Danish company said in its e-mail to Ritzau Finans.
