Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) last week secured a combined 109 MW of orders to supply turbines for two separate projects in Argentina and Turkey.

Vestas has won a 72-MW order to deliver 16 of its V150-4.5 MW turbines for a wind energy project in Argentina with the deliveries and commissioning scheduled to take place in 2024.

The wind turbine maker set foot in the local market back in 1994, installing the country's first commercial wind turbine in Comodoro Rivadavia.

The Danish firm separately announced a 37-MW contract to equip a project in Turkey with six V162-6.2 MW wind turbines. The delivery is planned for the fourth quarter of 2023, while the wind farm is expected to begin power generation in the second quarter of next year.

“With this order, we have secured more than 130 MW of EnVentus projects signed in Turkey,” said Levent Ishak, general manager of Vestas Turkey.

The names of the customers and the projects were not disclosed.
