Danish wind turbine supplier Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) said today it has received two firm and unconditional orders for wind projects in Honduras totalling 59 MW.

Under the terms of the two engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts, Vestas will supply and install wind turbines of the V117-3.45 MW model, while also implementing electrical and civil works and delivering the associated substation and access roads. Moreover, the Danish firm has received a 15-year full-scope service agreement (AOM 5000) for the projects.

Vestas expects to deliver the machines in the first quarter of next year. Commissioning is scheduled for the final quarter of that year.

These contracts, the value of which was not disclosed, make Honduras Vestas’ second new market in 2016, said Marco Graziano, president of Vestas Mediterranean.
