Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) said on Thursday it has secured a 68-MW order from Vienna-based renewable energy producer ImWind Erneuerbare Energie GmbH.

Vestas will supply, deliver and commission 10 units of its V162-6.2 MW turbine and one V150-6.0 MW machine for a wind farm project in Loidesthal, Austria. The order also includes a 25-year service agreement.

Turbine deliveries are slated to start in 2025, with commissioning expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. The new project is an extension of the existing Loidesthal wind park that is made up of eight V126-3.45 MW turbines.

“For this significant project, we have decided in favour of our long-standing and reliable partner Vestas,” stated ImWind chief executive Georg Waldner.

Vestas recently announced a turbine order for a 124-MW wind project in Lithuania, while earlier in the second quarter it unveiled a deal for an 84-MW repowering project in Austria.
