Denmark's Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) on Friday unveiled a range of turbine delivery orders across several regions, predominantly in Europe, with additional contracts in South Africa, Argentina and the US.

Some 219 MW were contracted in Germany alone under two separate contracts.

The Danish firm has been hired to supply, deliver and commission 17 of its V162-6.2 MW machines for LEAG to equip the Forst-Briesnig II project in the Lausitz region. Turbine delivery is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025, while the commissioning is targeted for the third quarter of 2026.

SAB WindTeam, in turn, has ordered 17 of the V162-6.2 MW and two of the V136-4.2 MW Vestas turbines for its Ahlum-Dettum project in Lower Saxony. The machines are expected to arrive in the second quarter of 2025 and be switched on in the fourth quarter of the same year.

Two other deals of combined 108 MW were clinched in Turkey where the Nordic firm has delivered over 2 GW of wind capacity since 1984.

Vestas has received a 63-MW order that envisages the delivery of 12 V150-4.5 MW wind turbines and two V136-4.5 MW to expand five existing wind parks located in the Sivas and Tokat districts. The contract was placed by Kangal Energy, Is Portfoy Infrastructure VCIF and Is Portfoy Renewable Energy VCIF and the concerns the Kangal, Bereketli, Akyurt, Karacayir and Konakpinar wind parks. Delivery will start in the first half of 2025, with the expansion project set to be completed in the second half of 2025.

The other Turkish order is for 10 of the V150-4.5 MW machines which will be delivered to an unnamed customer during the first half of 2025. The commissioning is expected in the second half of the year.

In the UK, Vestas will supply 18 V136-4.5 MW machines for Invenergy’s Pencloe project in Scotland which is expected to be fully operational in early 2026. The execution of the 81-MW order is set to start in the second quarter of 2025.

At the same time, Aquila Clean Energy has contracted 16 of Vestas’ V162-6.2 MW turbines for the 99-MW Akmene II project in Lithuania. In addition to the supply of the machines, the Danish firm will also be in charge of the site’s civil and electrical works as an EPC contractor. Construction works on the Lithuanian facility are set to begin at the end of 2024. Turbine delivery and commissioning are expected for the first quarter of 2026.

In South Africa, Vestas has been awarded a 144-MW order by African Clean Energy Developments (ACED). The supply and installation of 32 V163-4.5 MW wind turbines for the Umsinde Emoyeni project in Western Cape is expected to start by the first half of 2025. The wind farm is scheduled to go live in the first half of 2026.

The Latin American order is for 21 V150-4.5 MW turbines. The names of the contractor and the project were not disclosed. The execution of the 95-MW order is set to start in the second quarter of 2025, with commissioning scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of that year.

In the US, Vestas will deliver 38 V110-2.2 MW turbines, starting in the third quarter of 2025, for a repowering scheme. The name of the project, expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025, was not disclosed.

All of the abovementioned contracts include multi-year service agreements.
