Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTCalifornia-based Viaspace Inc (OTCBB:VSPC) said Wednesday it will provide engineering and design services for a 2-MW biogas power plant in Papua New Guinea under a contract with Clean Energy Solutions Pacific (CES).
Previously, Viaspace conducted an operations plan for the giant king grass plantation at the site, which will be the main source for the production of electricity. “For smaller applications such as for CES, anaerobic digestion of the Giant King Grass to produce methane rich biogas that fuels an engine that turns a generator to produce electricity is the right solution,” CEO Carl Kukkonen explained.
Apart from the design of the biogas facility and its grass receiving areas, the new contract covers storage, fuel feeding, primary and secondary anaerobic digesters and generators, among others. Viaspace will also take part in the selection of equipment suppliers and staff and later will take charge of the operation and maintenance of the facility.
Salt Lake City-based independent power producer (IPP) CES is mainly active in emerging markets. It will sell the output of the plant to the Papua New Guinea's government electricity company under a power purchase agreement (PPA).
