Viessmann France takes over solar collectors maker SAED

Oct 21, 2013 - Viessmann France, a unit of Germany-based heating systems maker Viessmann, announced today the acquisition of the activities of French provider of solar thermal collectors SAED, for an undisclosed amount.

The modules developed by SAED are well suited for heating networks, green residential areas and industrial installations and are destined particularly for installations of over 100 sq m (1,076 sq ft).

The modules enable to reach a temperature of between 80 degrees Celsius (176 degrees Fahrenheit) and 130 degrees Celsius and feature a good technology/price ratio and a simple assembly procedure.

The acquisition will enable Viessmann to complete its solar energy range of products.

SAED collectors will be distributed by Viessmann's international commercial network in Europe, North and South America, China and the Near East.

Viessmann, which is present in 12 countries with 28 production sites, employs 10,600 and posted sales of EUR 1.89 billion (USD 2.5bn) in 2012.
