Acciona Energia bags 48.1-MWp EaaS solar project for Viscofan in Spain
Sep 18, 2024 13:40 CESTBritish telecoms giant Vodafone Group Plc (LON:VOD) will next month start covering the entire power demand of its European network with 100% renewables electricity.
The company said last week that its mobile and fixed networks will all switch to 100% renewables power no later than July in line with an earlier commitment that will be achieved three years earlier than the original schedule.

Approximately four-fifths of the power needed for Vodafone's networks across Europe will come from power purchase agreements (PPA) for supplies from renewable power plants, as well as green tariffs. The rest will be covered by Renewable Energy Certificates.
Investment in on-site power generation projects, mostly involving solar panels, will be also pursued.
The telecoms group previously committed to purchasing electricity from renewable sources only, halving its environmental footprint by 2025 and reusing, reselling or recycling 100% of its network waste. Its plan also envisages helping its business clients lower their own carbon footprint by 350 million tonnes globally between 2020 and 2030.
