Voltalia bags crowdfunding money for 23.6-MW wind park in France

Voltalia bags crowdfunding money for 23.6-MW wind park in France Molinons wind farm, located in Yonne.

French renewable power plants operator Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) has raised EUR 4 million (USD 4.2m) from a crowdfunding campaign backing its 23.6-MW Sud Vannier wind farm in Grand-Est, in the North-East of France.

The initiative was launched at the start of this year among residents of the departments of Haute-Marne and Haute-Saone, as well as among Voltalia employees residing in France, Voltalia said on Monday.

Located around 25 km (15.5 miles) southeast of the city of Langres, in the department of Haute-Marne, the Sud Vannier park was brought online a year ago and is run under a 23-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Leroy Merlin. The contract covers the plant’s entire output and calls for the home improvement retailer to receive 60 GWh of electricity per year.

Sud Vannier is Voltalia's first wind farm in the Grand Est region. The plant’s construction was initiated in the summer of 2022 and first power was fed into the grid last February.
