(ADPnews) - Jul 8, 2010 - French renewable-energy company Voltalia (EPA:MLVLT) today said it had signed a contract to install a 1.17 MW rooftop solar system in Guyana.
The order was placed by Societe Immobiliere de Kourou (SIMKO), a unit of the Guyana Space Centre CNES.
The polycrystalline silicon solar panels will be mounted on a surface of 8,400 sq m (90,420 sq ft) on 12 different buildings.
Work on the project should complete by the end of 2011 and once in operation the panels will have a combined power output of about 1.54 million kWh a year.
Voltalia said this new order has expanded its solar project portfolio to 581 MW.
