Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) announced on Monday that its subsidiary Helexia has started the construction of rooftop solar power systems in Portugal with a total capacity of 2 MW for French home furnishings retailer Leroy Merlin.

This marks a milestone for Voltalia, the total power capacity of which now exceeds 3 GW, including plants in operation and under construction.

“I am very pleased to announce that we have exceeded 3 GW of capacity in operation and under construction. Crossing this threshold confirms the target we have set ourselves for 2024, i.e. around 3.3 GW in operation and construction, including around 2.5 GW in operation," stated Sebastien Clerc, CEO of Voltalia.

Voltalia is currently targeting over 5 GW of total capacity in operation and under construction by 2027, including the 130-MW Gafsa solar project in Tunisia and 550 MW of storage in Uzbekistan.
