Elawan bags Google PPA for 37-MW solar project in Texas
Sep 19, 2024 13:49 CESTFeb 28, 2013 - US retailer Walmart (NYSE:WMT) and US solar plants operator SunEdison said Wednesday they had completed three solar power installations at three of Walmart’s stores in Hawaii with capacity of 311 kW each.
The installations at the stores in Kahului, Kailua-Kona and Kapolei double the Walmart locations in Hawaii that are powered by solar energy and are yet another step towards achieving the company’s goal of covering 100% of its power needs from renewable sources.
In their first year of operation, the three rooftop solar power systems will generate over 400,000 kWh of electricity, offsetting 320 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually each.
