Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTAfrica-focused sustainable energy solutions provider WATT Renewable Corporation said on Tuesday that it won a USD-10-million (EUR 9.33m) contract to install solar arrays and energy storage in Nigeria for an unnamed financial institution.
WATT has been contracted to deploy a total of 5.6 MW of solar power generation capacity on several sites across the country as the main power source for the branches of this “major African bank”.
The first locations are expected to be energised by August 2023 and the rest should be completed by the end of the year. After that, WATT will provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for a period of seven years.
“West Africa is on the cusp of a digital transformation that will unlock social and economic opportunities for millions of people, and this deal will play an important role in this by providing clean, reliable power to local financial institutions in remote areas that rely on digital networks,” commented Oluwole Eweje, CEO of WATT.
