-- CADE okays Engie Brasil's buyout DG solar business

Brazil's Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) has approved without restrictions Engie Brasil Energia SA's (BVMF:EGIE3) planned buyout of a local distributed generation (DG) solar business.

-- BluEarth snaps up 795-MW wind portfolio in Wyoming

Canadian renewable power producer BluEarth Renewables LP said it has completed the purchase of a 795-MW wind project portfolio in the US state of Wyoming.

-- Battery storage VC funding grows to USD 539m in H1 - Mercom

Venture capital (VC) funding for battery storage companies expanded to USD 539 million in the first half of 2018, marking a 12% year-on-year rise, according to Mercom Capital Group LLC.

-- Lightsource BP to create Egyptian solar JV with HA Utilities

Lightsource BP will set up a joint venture with the utilities arm of regional construction and engineering group Hassan Allam Holding (HAH) to fund, develop and operate utility-scale solar projects in Egypt.

-- Falck to acquire Italian wind farm servicing specialist

Falck Renewables SpA (BIT:FKR) said that a fully-owned unit has agreed to take over Italian wind power-focused technical advisory services provider Windfor Srl.

-- EDF sells 91-MW wind project in Iowa to MidAmerican

EDF Renewables North America said it has agreed to sell the development rights associated with a 91-MW wind project in Iowa to MidAmerican Energy Co.

-- Serba Dinamik takes 15% in Malaysian biogas firm Green & Smart

Malaysian biogas producer Green & Smart Holdings Plc (LON:GSH) has secured about GBP 3.2 million from selling newly-issued to stock to a unit of domestic energy services group Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd (KLSE:SERBADK).

-- PNE buys out German wind project developer WKN

German clean energy solutions provider PNE AG (ETR:PNE3) has taken full control of Husum-based wind project developer WKN AG as part of its “scale up” strategy.

-- SN Power takes control of 250-MW HPP in Uganda

SN Power AS said it has closed the acquisition of a roughly two-thirds stake in the owner of the 250-MW hydropower facility in Uganda for about USD 277 million.

-- AlsoEnergy to merge with Skytron, buys US peer Draker

Solar monitoring specialist AlsoEnergy has just bought a sector player in the US and, in addition to that, has agreed a merger with Germany-based solar software and hardware company Skytron Energy GmbH.

-- Innogy closes buy of 2-GW US onshore wind pipeline

Innogy SE (ETR:IGY) has closed the acquisition of more than 2 GW of onshore wind projects in the US.

-- F2i to buy 334-MW Italian solar power business

Italian asset manager Fondi Italiani per le Infrastrutture, better known as F2i, said today it has agreed to acquire RTR and its 334-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) portfolio.

-- Falck agrees purchase of 10-MW wind project in Spain

Falck Renewables SpA (BIT:FKR) has struck a deal to buy a 10-MW wind project in Spain’s Castilla y Leon region, planning to begin construction by end-2018.

-- German lender KfW to buy 20% stake in 50Hertz with Elia help

Belgian transmission system operator (TSO) Elia System Operator SA/NV will buy the 20% stake it does not already own in 50Hertz Transmission GmbH just so it could immediately sell the interest to German state-owned bank KfW.

-- PE firm looking to sell Element Power - report

US private equity firm Hudson Clean Energy has put renewable energy developer Element Power up for sale, news service Sparkspread reported last week.
