In the past week Renewables Now covered just a few power purchase agreement (PPA) announcements and news of tenders awarding such. All of them are for solar capacity. See below a short summary.

-- Bangladesh opens tender for 200 MW of solar PV capacity

The Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) has launched a competitive bidding process for the deployment of 200 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity at four locations across the country. Winners will get 20-year PPAs.

-- Thames Water seeks solar installers via tender

UK water and wastewater services provider Thames Water Utilities Ltd has started a search for partners that can install solar arrays at company-owned sites. In one of the lots, interested parties can bid to finance, source and install solar capacity and own the assets for at least 15 years through a transferable PPA and lease agreement.

EDF Renewables North America said on Thursday it has struck a long-term PPA for its 70-MW Desert Harvest II solar project in California.

-- Aussie steel producer BlueScope strikes solar PPA with ESCO Pacific

Australian steel producer BlueScope Steel Ltd (ASX:BSL) said Friday it has inked a seven-year PPA with ESCO Pacific Pty Ltd tied to the latter’s 133-MW Finley solar farm project in New South Wales.
