Weekly round-up of renewable power tenders and PPAs (June 1-June 8)

From the start of the month Renewables Now covered stories about offtake deals, or power purchase agreements (PPA), and tenders awarding such, involving companies such as Engie and Cemig and the governments of Argentina, India and Brazil, among others. Below is a full list of deals:

-- NV Energy to add 1 GW of solar, 100 MW storage

Nevada utility NV Energy Inc said it has contracted 1,001 MW of new solar capacity and 100 MW of storage in what will be the state's largest renewable energy expansion.

-- Kenergy signs 40-MW solar PPA in Kenya - report

Kenergy Renewables has signed a PPA with state-run distributor Kenya Power for the output of a 40-MW solar project, Reuters said, quoting Kenergy’s head.

-- Vodafone pursuing 100% renewables goal by 2025

British telecoms giant Vodafone Group Plc (LON:VOD) announced on Friday its commitment to source from renewables 100% of the electricity for its global operations by 2025, with plans to sign PPAs for clean energy.

-- S Africa's new renewables bid round planned for November

South Africa plans to launch a new bid round under its Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) in November 2018, according a published speech by energy minister Jeff Radebe.

-- Argentina signs 179 MW of RenovAr round 2 contracts

Argentina has signed six contracts with winners in round 2 of its RenovAr renewable energy auction programme for a combined capacity of 178.8 MW.

-- Russian wind tender lures 2.2 GW of bids

Russia has received 2,213.67 MW of wind project proposals that will compete in the final round of its 2018 renewable energy tender, the country's Association NP Market Council announced.

-- SECI publishes results of 2-GW tranche-IV wind tender

State-run Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) published the results of its tranche-IV wind power auction for 2 GW of Inter-State Transmission system (ISTS)-connected projects.

-- Flow Power inks PPA for huge solar park in Victoria

Australian electricity retailer Flow Power announced a deal to buy the output of a 50-MW portion of the Kiamal Solar Farm that is expected to be the largest one in Victoria.

-- India's Azure Power wins 75-MW solar project in Assam

Indian solar power producer Azure Power (NYSE:AZRE) said it has been awarded a 75-MW solar project in the state of Assam.

-- Engie to supply renewable power to Chilean builder

Engie Energia Chile SA (EECL), a unit of French utility Engie (EPA:ENGI), signed an agreement to supply renewable power to the Quilicura facility in Chile of local construction company Cementos BSA.

-- Cemig contracts 1.24 GW of solar, wind power

Brazilian utility Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais SA (BVMF:CMIG4), better known as Cemig, has contracted power generation from 1,240 MW of solar and wind capacity through its very own energy auction.

-- Sysco agrees 25-MW solar garden programme with NRG Energy

US power company NRG Energy Inc (NYSE:NRG) will install 25 MW of solar gardens in Texas to meet about 10% of the national electricity usage of food products distributor Sysco Corporation (NYSE:SYY).

-- sPower seals 100-MW solar PPA with California CCA

US solar and wind assets owner sPower has inked a 100-MW solar power purchase agreement (PPA) with CleanPowerSF, a California community choice aggregator (CCA) that serves San Francisco.
