Danish wind sector player Muehlhan Wind Service (MWS) announced on Tuesday it has acquired a controlling interest in Endiprev, a Portuguese peer that specialises in commissioning and MV/HV work.

The merger will pave the way for the creation of a global frontrunner in the delivery of installation and services to the wind power sector, MWS said in a statement, noting that the goal is to gradually unify the two companies over time.

The current executive management team of Endiprev, including CEO Andre Ribeiro and COO Andre Pereira, remains with the business, which has a strong presence in the UK, the US, and Europe, particularly in France. Ribeiro and Pereira are also keeping their ownership stakes.

The current range of services offered by MWS includes installation, offshore pre-assembly, blade repair work, scheduled service, and large-scale upgrade and repair campaigns. The company plans to have over 3,000 wind turbine technicians globally this year. Its primary markets are Northern Europe, the UK, North America, and Australia.
