Sep 20, 2024 5:48 CESTMar 20, 2012 - US engineering services provider WPCS International Inc (NASDAQ:WPCS) will develop one of the first solar energy projects, to feature 40-kW solar arrays, on the nation of Vanuatu's largest island -- Espiritu Santo.
The South Pacific island nation's Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has picked WPCS to design and deploy the system, the US company said in a press release on Tuesday. The government has obtained financing for the initiative from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The solar installation, which will be managed by WPCS via its Australian division, will help cut the use of conventional electricity on the island.
