IEA urges proactive measures to integrate renewables
Sep 18, 2024 11:17 CEST(SeeNews) – Apr 30, 2012 – US material handling equipment group Wynright Corporation on Friday said it had reached an agreement to purchase Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from US Constellation Energy (NYSE:CEG) to cover 10% of the electricity used at two of its plants until March 2015.
Constellation Energy’s RECs come with Green-e energy certificate and the electricity was generated at wind power facilities located in the US. The contract will allow Wynright to offset 10% of the electricity used at its Elk Grove, Illinois, and Arlington, Texas, facilities with RECs.
As part of its REC programme, Constellation Energy guarantees that each REC provides the positive environmental attributes of 1 MWh of electricity produced from renewable energy sources, and is used only once by companies willing to promote their commitment to the environment.
