Chinese photovoltaics (PV) maker Yingli Green Energy Holding Co Ltd (NYSE:YGE) said Wednesday it will deliver 40 MW of its multicrystalline YGE 72 Cell Series panels to US-based firm Sybac Solar for two utility-scale projects in Honduras.

In particular, PV integrator Sybac Solar will use 25 MW of the equipment for the first phase of the 50-MW Pacific Solar plant, located in the city of Nacaome. The 160,000 Yingli panels will be installed by August this year.

The entire Pacific Solar facility is expected to be fully operational in 2016. The project was developed by Guatemala-based renewables firm EM-Power Corp.

In the meantime, Yingli will also equip the La Manzanilla y Las Lajas solar park in Choluteca city with 15 MW of its panels. Developed by Energys de Honduras SA de CV, the first tranches of the PV park will use at least 96,000 modules.

Previously, Yingli and Sybac Solar have worked together on the 24-MW Pavana solar farm in Honduras. “We value our long-term partnership, and look to Yingli as a preferred supplier for the remainder of our project pipeline in Central America and the Caribbean,” Sybac Solar CEO, Markus Falz, noted.
