Yingli Green Energy Holding (NYSE:YGE) will supply solar panels for Spanish firm Inypsa's 6.38-MW Talpa Solar photovoltaic (PV) project in El Salvador.

The supply deal, struck by Inypsa and the Chinese company's subsidiary Yingli Green Energy Europe, is valued at USD 2.2 million (EUR 1.8m), the former announced today.

The PV plant is being developed at El Salvador's International Airport and has a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the country's Autonomous Port Executive Commission (CEPA). The estimated revenue will be of USD 1 million to USD 1.6 million per year, Inypsa said.

When completed, Talpa Solar should be able to generate enough power to supply 3,798 homes annually as well as to offset 3,775 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year. This is Inypsa's first PV plant in Latin America.
