Zorg Biogas wraps up biogas plant at Moldovian distillery

Jun 5, 2012 - Swiss waste-to-energy plants developer Zorg Biogas AG said Tuesday it had installed a biogas plant at a bioethanol distillery in Moldova's Hincesti district, with start-up planned for next month.

The facility is to process up to 200 tonnes of distillery grain and 40 tonnes of animal waste per day to produce 7,000 cu m (247,200 cu ft) of biogas. The installation is to reduce the electricity costs of the distillery.

Zord took care of the plant's engineering design, supplied the needed equipment and supervised the installation, it said.

The Swiss firm has now completed projects in 12 countries including Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Latvia, Turkey, Russia, and Indonesia.
